Fun on the river at Pontrieux

Within a short distance you can find many activities including;

Tennis courts in Ploezal and Pontrieux.  Boules courts in Runan and Ploezal.

River, estuary and sea fishing.

During the months of June to September, there is entertainment for all the family, from clowns and acrobats to jazz and Breton music, in the beautiful gardens of the Chateau de la Roche Jagu.   These events are free to the public.

Steam train excursions between Paimpol and Pontrieux.   An exciting way to travel along the estuary, with a stop to sample local Breton crepes and cider whilst enjoying the local music.

Les Sept Iles

Excursions by boat from Perros Quirrec or Ploumanach.  Trips around the seven islands to see migrating birds including puffins at the largest protected natural bird sanctuary in France.

Canoe and Kayak hire available at the port of Pontrieux

you can hire 1,2 and 3 person canoes by the hour, or have training from a qualified instructor. 

There are organized outings down the Trieux river to Pontrieux, or from the port along the estuary to Lezardrieux.   These estuary excursions stop at the Chateau de la Roche Jagu for a picnic lunch in the Palmerie, (Palm tree garden).

Tree climbing for adults and childrens available at Ploumer Bodou, 20 minutes away.

Planetarium with daily showings in English. also at Ploumer Bodou.

Brocantes are very popular in the area.   Each town and village holds it's annual fete with stalls of brick-a-brak and collectables, a different venue every week!  throughout the year.   There are usually refreshments and music.

With our own two children at Crec'h Mordo, we have found the perfect places for a change from the beaches.

Small play park and electric boat excursionsin the public gardens at Pontrieux.

Amoripark near Begard, (20mins)

a perfect day out for all the family with its large indoor/outdoor swimming pool with exciting water chutes, jacuzzi and sauna.   Amongst may other activities there are paddle boats, trampolines, down hill dry bob sleigh run, crazy golf, toddler play area and farm animals.
